My laptop screen is broken, so I use an external VGA monitor. Today after I logged in I got an error "cortana and start menu not working" . I searched on net for a solution and I found that safe booting would solve
my problem. From msconfig I clicked on the safe boot option. After which I had to restart my PC. But after that I am not getting any display on my external monitor. My laptop screen is also broken. So I am not able to use my laptop. My laptop model is hp Pavilion
g6 2231tx .Please help

OK, I am assuming you can't get out of Safe Boot because you cannot see the screen and use your mouse to take Windows out of Safe Boot . . . here is a sequence of keystrokes that will perform this task!
Turn off Laptop, probably by using the power button if you cannot see the screen.
Start Laptop again and wait for it to boot fully, give it a couple of minutes and wait for hard drive light to settle down.
Press Windows + R keys simultaneously to open Run Dialog
Hit Enter key and give it a couple of seconds for dialog to appear
Then hit Tab Key, then Up Arrow, then Up arrow then Up Arrow
Then Tab 3 times, then Enter, then Enter again
Reboot - your laptop should now boot into normal mode
