Kernel Power Event ID 41 (63) After Waking from Sleep Mode

So I had a hard disk failure which required me to replace the drive with a similar Western Digital model. I then installed a fresh install of Windows 10.

Everything seemed fine and the desktop pc specialist tower starts fine from a cold boot every time. The problem lies in waking up from sleep mode. Within 2-5 minutes after waking from sleep mode the PC just cuts outs. In event viewer the error shows as kernel 41 (63).

One other thing to note is that after it cuts out and I press the power button to turn back on I get a sudden fan or hard disk fast spin noise for a few seconds before it settles down.

I struggle to think it is a hardware problem because the PC is fine from cold boot.

The things that I have tried is:

turn off fast boot,

reflash bios with existing version,

Put power setting to high performance,

update graphics driver.

Nothing has worked up to now, so I would really appreciate your advise on solving this issue.

Thanks

Rob

Hi,

Can you provide the following information which may help determine any issue(s):

Windows Key + R > type msinfo32 in the "Open" box > OK > File > Save > then save as an .nfo file

Then make the resulting .nfo file available via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site.

Also, can you do the following:

Windows Key + R > type eventvwr in the "Open" box > OK > expand "Custom Views" and then right-click "Administrative Events" > select "Save all events in Custom View As" and save as an .evtx file

Then make the resulting .evtx file available via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site.

Here's a link on using OneDrive:

The Kernel-Power error on Oct 15 was caused by a blue screen error. - BugcheckCode 26 = Bug Check 0x1A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

Can you zip up any minidump files in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and make available via Dropbox.

If you have problems zipping the minidump files copy the minidump files to another location such as a folder on the Desktop.

The crash did not appear to be caused by a third party driver although there was a McAfee driver unloaded during the crash.

Summary or the error:

BUCKET_ID: 0x1a_41201_nt!MiGetPageProtection

The DropboxThumbnailGenerator.exe was the process that crashed.

I might suggest to check the physical memory with an application such as Memtest86+

Also, consider re-seating the memory regardless of the outcome of the test.

Its a funny one as from a cold start the PC will run forever. It's only after a period of sleep that this problem happens. I have been using the memory for a long time. Changing the hard disk and a clean install of windows are the only components touched. Before that this computer was fine using sleep mode.

It is quite possible the issue is with the RAM.

Hi, Yes the test ran for a few hours and did throw several errors. I have 2 x 8gig modules.

Do you suggest I put them in different slots?.

The problem happened again last night and when I switched the tower back on the fans really speeded up especially the processor fan. Took about 30 seconds to settle down.
