I've read it can't be done...

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/how-to-change-the-resolution-of-windows-boot/b44b822d-f416-4f1f-ab4d-dc3ee09ae35f

How to change the resolution of windows boot manager screen ?

But don't totally give up hope. That was back in Win 7. Maybe it's different now in Win 10, ver. 1607, build 14393.51. But I don't see a setting for it at "R-Clk START, Run, type 'MSConfig', ENTER, Boot menu".

But I don't multi-boot. Maybe someone who does knows better. How did you regenerate your boot loader?

I've only used DiskPart to examine my partitions, thinking some day to delete some & resize others. I don't see that it deals with the boot menu.

BCDEdit Command-Line Options

BCDEdit deals with that, but I don't see it can do what you want, i.e., change the screen resolution.

actually there is two way to regenerate bcd :

1- diskpart will scan and find Windows installed and then regenerate bcd for it

2- you creat a new reserved system disk (using diskpart ) and regenerate bcd with commandes

i have Something of bad cnx so you can search the internet (it's easy to find ) or i'll put it when cnx go right

there are always more commandes and triks to adjust or fix things but sadly are not well explained by microsoft

OK. You know more about it than me. But I've got nothing to dual-boot to. So, I won't need the links. Sorry I couldn't help with the resolution problem. Good luck with it.
