Windows 10 Creators update, console nearly hangs

After updating Win10  x64 Home, noticed sys seems nearly hung at times. Seems to be due to connecting more than one cmd in a shell (cmd, or TCC/LE 14). When a pipe or '&" connects two cmds, console can appear to freeze. Worse access to other apps can be severely impeded. Eventually, whatever logjam is going on, clears.

Console seems to be the common denominator of the shells tried. Doubtless some 'feature' of console is involved, but as a very old geek, have little patience for working through such tangled interactions any more ...

Hello,

For us to further isolate the issue that you are experiencing, kindly respond to the questions below:

  1. Are you connecting to another computer using command prompt?
  2. Does the issue only occurs when connecting two command prompts?
  3. What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
  4. Besides from the update to Creator's Update, are there any other software or hardware changes made to your device prior to the issue?

We look forward to your response.

Regards.

Thanks for your feedback.

ProcMon (sysinternals) showed more time in QueryNameInformationFile, when hangs happened.

Checked for malware; none discovered. Tried a number of other mitigation
measures. All seemed helpful, yet at possibly random intervals, the issue
would remanifest ... then not, for a time.

Perhaps that system was being probed by particularly stealthy malware.
Whatever was going on, issue has not manifested for more than a week, possibly
since at or before Patch Tuesday for May.

P.S.  There are a mix of Win7, 8.1 and 10 systems on the local net, with a different (than the one having the issue) Win10 system sharing drives. Disabled SMB v1 on all of them, yesterday.

P.S.  David, should you want to have a look, I have a .pml logfile that is not quite 2 MB in size. Tried to upload as image, but that was rejected.
