Hi P M Donovan,

Have you tried downloading this update manually?

Thank you for the reply and suggestion.

Yes, the catalog is where I am trying to download it from.  I have an Ivy Bridge processor, i7-3632QM (its status is not listed on the Intel site's production schedule for Spectre patches).

I get the processor ID from the "View basic information about your computer" page on the Control Panel > System and Security > System page for Windows 10 page.

I am running the 64 bit Windows Pro, Fall Creators edition:  Version 1709, OS Build 16299.309.

My last installed update was on 3/24/2018, KKB4088785.  The Installed History includes each monthly patch Tuesday update as well as other updates such as for Adobe Flash Player.

KB4090007 is the update which includes protection against Spectre and the other Intel flaw which name is currently escaping me.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,

I would suggest you check whether you are a victim of the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerability first.

Here's a good guide (I've used the PowerShell module myself)

Kind regards,

Thank you once again for the prompt reply and, this time, for a link to see if I have the correct patches.

Given the number of steps and what is on my plate for today, I will look at this again when I have the time.  Unfortunately, for now, I will continue to rely on Microsoft's statement that there have been no exploits identified.  :(
