Question

Q: Windows 10 32bit x86 - NTVDM has encountered a System Error A device attached to the system is not functioning. 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem

I have an older 16bit MS-DOS program that runs just fine on Windows 7 and Windows 8, 32 bit of course. It will not run when these same machines are updated to Windows 10  (also 32 bit).

The error is:

16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem

"NTVDM has encountered a System Error  A device attached to the system is not functioning."

I ran all the updates after installing Windows 10. When we uninstall Windows 10, the program again runs just fine.

Any ideas? Help please.

Thanks in advance
