Protect Yourself From Tech Support Scams
Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee
and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number.
My Bitdefender AV also alerted me about access from this program to internet. I woud want to know why this program (waasmedic.exe) do that.
It is sad that there is no answer about this question. Is this a secret?
So, do we have to analyze the data exchange under this program ourselves?
But GDPR is comming. We can wait to 25 may 2018 :) Maybe the GDPR will change the situation.

Windows Update includes tasks to repair itself, because it's a critical part of Windows.
WaaS stands for 'Windows as a Service' - that's how Windows 10 is different from earlier versions of Windows. Windows 10 is delivered as a service, while earlier versions were discrete products.
Medic is just slang for healing. A medic, as you probably know, is another term for a doctor.
WaasMedic is one of the utilities that try to repair Windows Update when it gets damaged.
