Turning HDR off causes my pc to restart and keeps HDR on.

I've been having this issue for the past couple of days. I noticed my screen had a yellow tinge to it. I know for a fact I never changed it to that. Nobody else goes on my computer let alone know how to change the settings. My monitor that is being used is the Acer Predator XB273U GX @ 1440p 270Hz. My gpu is the EVGA FTW3 ULTRA RTX 3080. Not sure if this is a windows update issue or an nvidia driver issue. I tried using DDU and clean installing the driver but that didn't fix the issue. Not sure if I really want to reinstall windows because this computer is practically brand new (Built in March 2021). I just want to turn of HDR in the Windows display setting. This has nothing to do with the monitor physical settings I only set them once and never touched them again. IF you need logs or any error codes please let me know and I'll send them.

Same thing is happening with me. I have the 32 inch 240hz version of that monitor. Seeing as you already tried reinstalling the nvidia drivers (I have 3090 ftw3) I think the monitor itself might be culprit. I think acer (monitor firmware) or Microsoft needs to fix this. In the meantime I'm going to try and unplug my monitor, do a driver clean (Ghostbuster), and see if that fixes in short term. Let's escalate to acer support as well.

I got it to get fixed by lowering the desktop refresh rate to 60hz,turning hdr off in windows display setting, then setting it back to 244hz.

Might want to try that with your monitor.

This is still broken and needs to be fixed. Seems like it's nvidia driver, monitor firmware, or windows issue.

Well, actually it seemed to have been an internal pc problem. I'm glad it wasn't my monitor's fault because I had only changed the setting when I first bought the monitor. A microsoft representative/technician took control of my computer and was able to resolve my issue so now I can enjoy my colors the way I like em.

No worries! The other option is downgrading your driver to 46x.xx revision.

We need to get this fixed for newer drivers!

Please bump your issue on nvidia forum post here so we can get priority!
