Smart Audio issue

I have removed Conextant Smart Audio from my bosses computer, which is running Windows 10, but every time he reboots he gets the message "failed to initialize Smart Audio, The application will now exit.  As I said the application has been removed.. is there a program or something else looking for the Smart Audio that is trying to open it?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Scott,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

How did you uninstall it?

Go to Device Manager and check if it is listed there.

  1. Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click on Device Manager.
  2. Look for the Device and uninstall it.

Also, try in Clean Boot and check.

This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows. It starts Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.
