Kernel-Power, Event ID 41, Task Category: (63)

Hello I have been having this Critical error and it started about 2 days ago no idea what is causing it but I know that the PSU, and CPU is perfectly fine. Nothing is over heating, Plus the RAM is perfectly okay. Only thing that I can think of is something to do with my drivers? But I can't pin it to anything. The issue this Critical error causes is that it randomly at any time when I'm playing a game will shutdown the computer instantly with no errors or alarms. I hope you can help me.

I'm getting this too, but so are loads of people and it seems it could be a Nvidia driver issue.

I am unable to open the dump log

I also had this problem, only once. and I have AMD graphic card on Dell M4800 Laptop. So I do not think Nvidia Driver would be solo cause of the problem.

I ran following check right after the problem.

  sfc /scannow

  dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

and all of them show there are no error in windows.

Can I conclude that windows on my laptop is in good condition by this two check, or I need to do more?

I am really confused.

Hope to get more help

I never care safty problem, just want to be a hacker

In my case:

i5 2500k @4.3/Asus Strix GTX970/500W PSU

my problem seems to be an insufficient PSU as it was unclear to me that a) my graphic's card pulls up to 300W peak so 25A in certain games.  I didn't know my PSU had two 12V rails each having only 17A each - therefor insufficient.

I have ordered a 550W single 12V rail PSU (+40A - +480V@12V) in the meantime I have reduced graphics quality in the offending game and no more crashes until I get my new PSU

I am having the same problem. but the automatic repair found no issues. Please help as I have tried dealing with this by upgrading the PSU, hard drive, and video card (all things I was planning on doing eventually) and had this problem dating back to may with Win 7 before the upgrade to 10.

PS I would insert the zip file of the event log if possible, but I do see an option to do so.

I have been a week without crashing after trying these steps from a Japanese author. Effectively, you have to disable the Prefetch program, delete the files in the prefetch folder, reboot and change the replacement files to be read only to keep it from learning its way into being a bug.

Have been running windows 10 for over a year with great satisfaction. In mid December, Microsoft installed many updates and my PC/laptop started acting erractic. For example, if I open up more than two windows, my system will just shut down. I have installed RegCure Pro on my system this evening to clean up files and perform optimization. Although this has helped a little, I tried running Facebook via Edge browser and via Google Chrome was running music from one of the radio networks. That went okay until I opened up Twitter, also via Chrome, sent out a tweet, then the system stopped. I rebooted, ran another RegCure Pro and then performed some analysis looking at memory dumps. What I keep seeing in the Events log is a critical error repeated times that points to Kernel Power (have no idea what that is) with an ID of 41. Perhaps this might make sense to you. Perhaps their is a fix for this? Opened ticket earlier; 1370327567

It is noted that there are about 60 other people that are having the same error and their PC started acting crazy a few days ago. That about sums up my situation that I have rebooted about 40 times over the last few days and it very frustrating. Something must have passed into our system from the latest Microsoft updates, would be my guess. Please feel free to contact me at *** Email address is removed for privacy *** or call after 9:am on 561-401-2740 if you wish to chat. I have also updated my drivers but my PC shuts down when I tried to install accumulated updates from Microsoft onto my system. The updates for Security and Defender went through with no problems. I have plenty of memory and process space per my statistics.

I had this problem, my Dell Latitude E7470 7 Prof. would unexpectedly shutdown even when it is connected to power and also when right after I disconnect power cord.

Ever since I updated 'Intel Power Sharing Manager Device' drivers this became my everyday problem. Just disabled it and it's acting normal now.

Go to Device Manager > Right Click the recent drivers (in my case Intel Power Sharing Manager Device) and disable). No restart required.

How do you get to the win technical preview? Do start as if you are installing win 10?

Mine keeps reporting a kernel power error? I have a 1 kw power supply so doubt if this is the problem. There are 2 or three events a day and has already cost me a 2.7TB external drive and many errors on the "C" drive,  Afraid I may lose that soon. Microsoft have also blocked the online help link from the event log - seems to me they don't giva a damm.
