Hi Ronnie,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft community.

I understand your concern and frustration you have been through.  I will be glad to assist you.

I need to know some details
1. Have you made any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

Method 1: Troubleshoot Intel Rapid storage technology service

I would suggest you try starting the Intel Rapid storage technology service and check if it helps.

a. Press Windows + R,
b. In the run box type ‘Services.msc’
c. Right click on Intel Rapid storage technology service and Click on Start

I would suggest you to refer Intel community support link

https://communities.intel.com/community/tech

Hope this resolves the issue. If issue persists, you can write to us and we will be glad to assist you further.

Thanks.

Hi, Ronnie,

you have to do the following:

1. Go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/de/download/25165/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technologie-RAID-Treiber

2. Download f6flpy-x86.zip or f6flpy-x64.zip corresponding to your operating system and additional download the SetupRST.exe.

3. Install the *.inf files inside the ZIP file by right click on INF and then select "instal".

4. Restart the computer!

5. Start SetupRST.exe. This takes a few minutes until end.

6. Restart the computer!

Thats all. Hope this helps.

LINDI44,  THANK YOU!!!

I've been looking for a solution to get mine up and running.  Couldn't get it updated.  I think installing the INF files was the key.  I'm going to link your solution in the other thread that I was posting in :)

Tried this approach, but didn't help. Installing iaAHCIC.inf went well, but iaStorAC.inf timed out after the same interval as when running setupRST.exe, about 13 minutes. I can't find a log from the .inf install, but IntelRST.log shows a 1603 error being thrown from RSTx64.msi, but no narrative explanation of what that means. The IntelRST_MSI.log shows: "!!!Win32 Exception: (0x5B4) This operation returned because the timeout period expired"
I can see that the driver has been updated to 14.6.0.1029 in Device Manager, but there is no Intel application in the system tray, and the version of IAStorUI.exe in Program Files is the old one. Running that works, but starting it every time is a pain.
Any suggestions?

My Intel RAID array and the supporting RST service stopping working after Windows 10 upgrade.  I have tried the above process twice.  Both times my PC failed to reboot afterward with the message: "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE".  I  recovered be going back to a previous set point, but obviously the RST is still not running and the system in incredibly S-L-O-W!

I found Information and diagnostics regarding the Intel RST service not running here, but there is apparently no simple fix:

http://www.win-raid.com/t2f23-Intel-RST-RSTe-Drivers-newest-v-WHQL-v-WHQL-56.html

Note that the details go on for pages and they are far above my pay grade or understanding.

Fwiw, the RST service is still not functioning on my pc.
