How to take a screenshot in Windows 10 on a tablet without a keyboard

I've been unable to figure out how to take a screenshot after upgrading to Windows 10. Before I upgraded I used to be able to press the Windows button and the Volume down button at the same time, but in 10 it just switches me back to the start screen.

Hi Daphne,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I would like to inform you that

  1. If it’s a Surface tablet you may just need to press Start Button and can take a screen shot.
  2. You get a sound to confirm that the screen shot is been taken.

If it’s a non-Surface tablet please refer to the article “Using the Snipping Tool to capture screen shots” and follow the steps.

Please refer to the below link to redirect to the article:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/use-snipping-tool-capture-screen-shots#1TC=windows-8

Note: Steps of the above article applies to Windows 10 as well.

Hope these information helps, please get back to us for future support, we’ll be glad to assist you further.

Thank you.
