Disable Photo Auto Rotate Win 10

Hi,

For some reason windows 10 is auto rotating all of my pictures, leaving some shots in landscape view and rotating others vertically. I must find a way to disable this feature. I'm using Windows 10 on a business computer and we draft reports using photos that must all be in horitonzal view which would be incredibly tiresome to manually set for every single picture.

I have looked all over for answers but since windows 10 is so new, I can't seem to find a compatible solution. Does anyone know how to disable the photo auto rotate feature???

Solutions for Windows 7 or 8/8.1 will not work...

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

No such option in my Windows 10, or other folks Windows 10 either.

Ruth,

That option relates to stopping the screen from changing orientation and is not available on all devices. Presumably it may only be available on tablet devices where rotating the screen is a common occurrence.

In any case, this option is unrelated to the auto rotation of photos.

My own research into this matter leads me to believe that MS has no solution for us in Win10 and no intention of changing functionality to support it.

I have the same issue.  Windows Explorer (File Explorer) shows my landscape photos as rotated when in fact they truly aren't.  Then when I open the photo with a program, such as VuePrint or even drag it into Word 2013, the photo shows as landscape and has to be rotated.  We'd all like to be able to turn this feature off.  Please note, this has nothing to do with rotating a tablet.  This is a PC.

This is truly insane. Not only do half of the responders on this forum assume the issue is with SCREEN rotation, but this is a "feature" or characteristic that is totally unhelpful for anyone who deals with graphics. It's irritating enough that I may stop using Windows 10 altogether. I *HATE* having Microsoft try to anticipate what I want--they are often wrong, and wind up causing more problems than they solve or prevent.

the problem I am having is I'm trying to make a time-lapse video and even after turning the pictures it comes out with the wrong orientation - I had to find a windows 7 pc in order to make this work - not something I want to do every time I want to make a video

It it not screen orientation issue, but a one with the EXIF and how windows interprets it. After upgrading to win 10 any portrait oriented file is messed up, and after putting in via CyberLync PD10 it's even bigger mess. I really hope for a solution, because now I have two excellent programs and none of them is working properly.

P.S.: Even files by MS's own Lumia 950 are messed up. And it's an excellent mobile camera.

Microsoft. If "you" single side decide to display auto-rotated all my pictures then you should (MUST) also give me the option to turn that off!

I have this physical photo device displaying my favorite photo's in the living room. But that device isn't that smart to display auto-rotated photos.

So now some are ok and some 90 degrees rotated.

I have searched the internet over and over but there seems no solution to stop windows 10 from auto rotating my pictures. Is there?

Besides that there seems no way to "see" what photos are auto rotated and what are not.

I am not talking about auto rotating the screen here.

Thanks you,

What is the purpose of knowing the make and model of the computer? It'sa windows 10 issue. Please read the entire thread. The issue is that photos are correctly shown in win 10 regardless of the original photo. OTHER devices do NOT do this and there is no way in win 10 to stop doing this orshow the original position (landscape or not)
