Touchpad cursor won't work when typing

Hi all, I have this problem on my windows 10 Lenovo G51 laptop.

Whenever i'm pressing keyboard keys like W,A,S,D my touchpad won't allow me to move my mouse In gaming, i can't pan while moving with w,a,s,d.

I've been looking everywhere, and many posts say to change palm tracking in the mouse settings but palm tracking is greyed out and I can't change it. Any help would be great, thanks!

Hello John,

Sorry for the delayed response, Thanks for the information.

Did you click on the "restore all defaults" in the synaptic control panel and check?

If the issue still persists after restoring the settings to defaults, you may uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it.

Kindly follow the below steps.

1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.

2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.

3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".

4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.

5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will reinstall the device driver. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

Hope the information helps. Do reply if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
