Windows 10 comes with preinstalled windows media player 12 so you should not have any problems regarding playing media in your computer.
Hope it helps.

You cannot uninstall it completely, but you can disable it from "Turn Windows features on or off option."
So unfortunately there is no way to remove WMP 12 and then installing WMP 11 on your system.

Probably nothing major. Sadly, Microsoft is essentially ditching their tried and true Win32 components and are making a transition to buggy and function lacking apps, so I'm not sure that Windows Media Player ranks very high on their list of programs to improve. They are hoping that you will use the newfangled Groove and Movies apps instead. Is there a particular problem you have with Windows Media Player version 12?

Techie007L wrote - “Is there a particular problem you have with Windows Media Player version 12?” …. Yes, its not a patch on media player 11.
Its no wonder people are ditching Microsoft and going to apple.
Surely there must be an alternative media player, which unhappy windows 10 users can download, for a small price, even better FREE. An alternative media player, with all of the main features windows 10 users are asking for, similar to those of windows media player 11.
Why is it when Microsoft brings out, yet another, new super duper OS, it isn’t better than earlier operating systems.

This problem I am afraid has been going on since the beginning of the early stages of Microsoft Windows 10 and the ONLY answer seems to be is to download and use the free VLC. In my opinion only it is no where near as good as windows media at all but at least it WILL play your DVD's and CD's but NOT all of the music you already have recorded on the hard disc will play via VLC due to some idiotic rules of media rights. So I keep what I have and play all my excellent recordings via Windows media player. Microsoft will tell you that's the way it is and they are NOT doing windows media anymore. I just hope that Microsoft will do a turn around some day soon and change their minds but I doubt it.
