Does not appear to be a valid font file (can not install font)

To assist you better, I would like to know whether the issue is specific to a particular font or are you able to install different font and I would like to know how exactly you are trying to install the font.

Open Fonts by clicking the Start menu, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Fonts.

Then drag the font and drop the file to main window containing all your other installed fonts.

1. This issue happened to some fonts included siddam font as above mentioned.

2. I tried 03 ways to install font: (i) right click on font file and install, (ii) copy font and paste in font folder (\windows\fonts) and (iii) drag and drop font liked you said

and all lead to the error message CAN NOT INSTALL, the font file does not appear to be a valid font file.

This issue might occur if the font is not compatible with Windows 10. However, let’s try different troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

1. Click on the start and click on settings.
2. Click on System and select App and features on the left pane.
3. Now click on Manage optional features on top of the right pane.
4. Scroll and select for the font.

I use a online font file converter and it can be installed now.

Strange thing is that my original font file is .ttf, after converted it is still .ttf file.

But I can't install with my original file but file being converted works well

Ive been dealing with this **** ms problem for like 2 years ever since i installed windows 10

this solved everything!!!!

now i can install hundreds of fonts i couldn't use even though I bought them!!
