Windows 10 WiFi is stuck on airplane mode and not turning off.

My laptop DELL 7537 came with W8 genuine and worked good. After few months due some issues ( not related to WiFi) I had reinstall windows 8 but it was Third Party. Then I updated my my windows 8 then it auto went to Airplane mode. grey out. Reinstalled again and again still the problem occurred. My RadioTower also worked before and stopped working now. Then I talented W10 and still airplane mode was there. I have tried diagnosing all wireless adapters. All drivers are up to date. Please help me guys. I am very poor and I spend 700$ on this :( please help me.

Hi,

Can you please let us know what exactly do you mean when you say "had reinstall windows 8 but it was Third Party"?

You can refer to this link and check if the settings are correct:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/what-is-airplane-mode

(Applies to Windows 10)

You can uninstall and reinstall the network drivers from Dell website to check if that works. Also make sure, that if you have a switch to toggle the on/off wifi feature airplane mode it is correctly set.

I am having the same problem. I upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate. It seems as if there is a glitch in the windows 10 software which makes it impossible to turn off airplane mode. I tried turning it off every way possible and no luck. For the moment I have downgraded back to 7, but I hope Windows can fix this issue soon.

JohnHall97, I am having the same problem.  If I go back to what I had previously before Microsoft 10, will that help?  And I'm not even sure how I can go back to what I had.  Do I "uninstall" M 10 ?

Hi Anannya. I too have tried everything to get the Airplane Mode to "off".  Nothing seems to work.  Since I downloaded M 10, I cannot scan documents from my copier to my computer now. Nor can my assistant in my office gain access to my computer.  It's wreaking havoc on my operations.  I have my IT guy coming in to look at it and hopefully he can fix it.  Is there a way I can "uninstall" Microsoft 10 and go back to my old operating system?

Yes it will. Luckily Microsoft added a feature into windows 10 that allows you to switch back to whatever OS your computer was running before. Directions for this can be found here: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windows/how-downgrade-windows-10-to-windows-7-8-3615606/

I am glad that worked for you! Unfortunately my computer has always been directly connected to the router... I tried reinstalling windows 10 but still no luck . It also seems as if I have created myself another problem as whenever I go to revert back to windows 7 it says that the files needed have been deleted. I must say that this upgrade experience has not made me more favorable towards Microsoft products.
