How to enable JavaScript in Microsoft Edge

Split from this thread.

Hello Zuleikha,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per description, you like to enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer.

I would suggest you to follow the article given below and check if that helps.

Refer:

How to enable JavaScript in Windows

Hope this helps. If you have any other queries, please get back to us and we’d be happy to help.

Hi Ashish - sorry, that doesn't help. That page tells us how to enable JavaScript in everything BUT Windows 10. I'm using Edge, not Internet Explorer, and can't see anything about JavaScript or Active Scripting in the Advanced Settings

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

For Microsoft Edge, you can disable/enable Javascript from Windows Group Policy editor. Kindly follow the steps below:

1. Click on Start, type Edit group policy and select it.
2. Expand the User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components folder.
3. Expand the Microsoft Edge folder
4. Double-click allows you to run scripts, like Javascript.
5. Choose Disable and click OK to confirm.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Georgina,

For issue with your PC’s edge not opening, you can run the automatic troubleshooter for Windows app. If issue still persists, you can refer to JimBrother’s answer on another thread to troubleshoot the issue further.

Once you were able to open Microsoft Edge, you can follow the steps on our support website to enable JavaScript.

Let us know if the steps worked.
