Flash Not Working on windows 10

My Flash players not working on windows 10 only my chrome browser can access flash content I have tried the disable active x & enable it via manage add-ons but still nothing the only indication I can come up with is that in manage add-ons its under not available even some of the info file date, publisher is not available,

Is there a way to fix it? also it worked prior to installing windows 10.

Flash is built-in to the Microsoft Edge browser (I take you are using Edge and not IE).

As you have multiple browsers you might want to try the following steps first but personally I would remove Adobe flash from Programs and Features.

In Edge make sure you go to the ... menu (top right) then select Settings then Advanced Settings at the bottom and make sure 'Use Adobe Flash Player' is enabled.

If still problems, close the Edge Browser.

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options. Select 'Advanced' tab at the top.

Tick 'Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering*', then click OK.

Re-open Edge Browser.

Thanks for the reply wayne

I've done all this and still not working a few bits of info I forgot to add was I'm manly using internet explorer due to edge not allowing extensions for my Norton & its 64bit windows 10 also every time I go to adobe & click the test button it tells me flash is not installed/enabled or active x is on but it is enabled in both ie & edge & active x is off also tells me as windows 10 has flash in built I can't download the adobe flash again as I deleted it,

browser I have installed are firefox, chrome, edge & internet explorer only chrome works but then apparently chrome has a built in flash on the browser & won't use the flash adobe one, might be the reason chrome works & none of the others do, I have searched online & found a similar problem in windows 8.1 which they re registered flash via admin command prompt but tried that & just gives me a error message saying can't find target location etc but that is 8.1 & command prompt could be different.

I have all the same symptoms you do, and no solution yet.

Firefox will not play Flash - It just sits there with a blank screen. Eventually it tells me Flash Crashed.

IE just locks up when any page with flash loads - the mouse goes dead and I have to shut it off via the taskbar.

I dont have chrome installed, so I have not tried that yet.

AllanFink- are you by any chance using Conexant Smart Audio HD driver in Windows 10 (particularly on a Lenovo laptop).

I had exactly the same issue on my Lenovo 540 a couple of weeks after upgrading to W10. After checking my updates when the problem started I noticed that my Conexant driver had been updated to a new version (no other hardware updates). Even though sound worked fine I decided to roll it back to previous version and Flash started working again on Edge and IE10.

Issue is that MS Update keeps wanting to update the driver. It did so a couple of days ago and sure enough Flash started failing again. Rolled it back (yet again!) and Flash works!

Hi there,

I found out that flash player is built into Microsoft edge and I uninstalled Adobe from my 'programs and features'.

The problem I am having is the M.S. Edge is using the old software version 18 of Adobe. My Kaspersky anti-virus 'vulnerability scan' is detecting this software as 'critical' and strongly advises to up date the software immediately.

Edge will not do this and continues to use version 18. I have and did install the latest version Adobe 19 but it will not use the updated software.

Can I get the new version 19 and install it myself? I have looked for it on M.S. but cant find it.

Jim.

Speak of the devil and he will appear :-)

This morning when I started my pc as usual I always go straight to the updates to see if there are any. Any Updates or even a new core build as I am at present on build 10547.

Low and behold in the updates was an update windows defender and for the built in M.S. Edge 'Flash Player'.

Once a 'vulnerability scan' was done again, Adobe Flash had been updated and my PC was secure.

If anybody is still having problems with their flash player check the updates and see if it is there. It might have updated itself as there was no need for a reboot on completion.

Hope this helps...

Jim.
