Can't view SSL certificates on websites visited using EDGE in Windows 10

No problems upgrading and we're loving it, except: When visiting a secure site, we can click on the lock and it will tell us the site is secure but can't see the actual certificate as we have always been able to do in the past. So we don't know the valid dates or the actual company name it was issued to. It does tell us who issued it and if it's valid or not but that's about it. Does anyone know a way to see the certificate short of using a different browser? Thanks

Hi Broco,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Please use Internet Explorer to view SSL certificates. You may also submit your views/feedbacks about EGDE using the feedback option available in the EGDE browser.

Hope this helps.

Hi Babu

This is bit poor answer.

I have similar issue and certs have been installed in appropriate CAs stores.

After that IE works as expected.

However, MS EDGE worked only for the first 2 times.

Checked all related certs and they are all in good shape. Cleared cache and saved media licenses. Restarted MS Edge to achieve the same issue that was resolved 3-4 weeks ago.

Changing Language Locale from Irish (Ireland) to English (Ireland) as suggested in one of the forums did not help (PC restarted after change).

Since than I'm still getting 'Missing certificate error 1003' when using MS Edge.

IE continues to work.

What we can do to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Marcin

More than a year later and there is still no way to view certificates in Edge.
There isn't even an explanation of why a certificate fails. (doesn't match site name, expired, revoked, signature algorithm doesn't meet today's standards....) we just get a generic catch all error "Website Problem   There's a problem with this website's security certificate. This might mean that someone's trying to fool you or steal any info you send to the server. You should close this site immediately."

When did MS start using so many contractions? OK, language can evolve and I guess they are trying to appeal to a younger crowd, but c'mon guys surely you haven't given up entirely on exception handling? Give us useful error messages that at least point out where something failed.

I hope to see a fix sometime before the NEXT Anniversary Update. Otherwise you know no matter how many nagging pop-ups you push to my screen I'm not going to switch from Chrome or even retire IE.

Rod

Apparently the solution is to upgrade to FireFox.

Although Microsoft does something in the scope of certificates in Edge browser:
but still does not take into consideration enabling to view full details of HTTPS website certificate (like IE and all other web browsers do)!

Google Chrome web browser does the best job validating certs, and unlike Firefox, Chrome does obey the default system certificate store.

Very Sad to see that Microsoft has such a small staff working on the EDGE Browser.
