Zoom camera access

Working from home and I'm required to use Zoom. When I initially installed it, the camera was working. Today I had to move my system to another room and now Zoom is unable to access my camera for some reason. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Julia

P.S. Running Windows 10 Home, if that helps...

Hi there JuliaLarson, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

Lets try to enable app permissions for the Camera.
To go there please click on Start and then click on the gear icon to open up the Settings. Under Settings click on Apps then Apps and Features, scroll down to Camera then click it then choose Advance options, the try to toggle all options under App Permissions.

If that didn't work go back to the same Camera Advance settings window, scroll down and click on Reset.

Try to reboot the computer after.
Hope this helps.

Hi Julia, I am having the exact same problem, with my desktop workstation. worked yesterday, today added a microphone and now no camera. Have checked drivers, and everything offered here. If you get any other suggestions, please let me know.

All app permissions were enabled, so I tried the reset option and rebooted the computer. Still getting the same message: Zoom is unable to detect a camera.

Sounds like others are having a similar problem. Any additional suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi, Can you please check if the Camera driver is detected in the Device Manager?
And if it is then we need to uninstall it then reboot. This will reload its driver.
Here is how to do it.

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.
Step 2. Select Device Manager.
Step 3. Expand the entry Cameras or Imaging devices. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.
Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.
Step 5. Reboot the computer.

Good morning!

That is the one option I did not try, only because no where does it say the camera will be reinstalled with the driver ( or is it only the driver needed?) Sounds silly, but I rarely have to delete or uninstall, makes me a little nervous.

I tried this and now the camera does not even show up on the device list anymore.  The latest 10 update trashed it so I tried the uninstall.  Big mistake.  Now I have no camera and no way to scan for the device or update the driver.  Not happy windows!  If anyone can tell me how to get the camera back I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for providing this information. Tried it, but it also did not work.

Here's the interesting part:

I have a "personal" Zoom account and the camera functions just fine on that!

My new "work" Zoom account does not detect my built-in webcam...what do you make of that? I reached out to Zoom for a fix, in case it's a multiple-account issue...

Thanks again,

Julia

Thank you for that information, if the personal account works with the camera then it might be some settings in your Work Zoom account need to reconfigure.
There is an advise in Zoom website that you might need to reinstall the application.
