Windows 10 Screen auto rotation

Have installed Windows 10 on a Bush Tablet.  Initial installation had problems so went through recovery removing all the existing apps and files to get a clean install.  Problem now is screen auto rotate.  In landscape the screen is correct, on portrait the screen is flipped (upside down).  Have updated the Kionix drivers without any change.

Anyone know how to fix this.  Thanks

Correct, I rotate the tablet clockwise and screen follows correctly by moving counter clockwise, just 90degrees out..needs to rotate once more to "catch up" with me.

No luck with that code though, no change. Might try reinstalling the sensor and trying again.

Did you disable and re-enable the sensor fusion device after trying that? If there's no change, then the orientation is getting rejected or it's not loading. What version of the drivers are you running?

                                                             - WudfUpdate_01011.dll version 6.29200.16384(win8_rtm.120725-1247)

Hi RichardBamford and Brian_HW,

Sorry, I had a typo in my suggested orientation value. Try this one:

01 01 01 00 00 00 02

As a .reg file, it's this (make sure the instance 0000 matches what you have):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\SENSOR\0000\Device Parameters\kxfusion]

"Orientation"=hex:01,01,01,00,00,00,02

Is the rotation different with the orientation registry value set, or is it the same? If they're the same, can you dump your kxfusion key with regedit? Which way (clockwise or counterclockwise) do you turn the tablet to go from horizontal to vertical? Also, the version number for kxfusion should be 1.0.ww.x and kxspb should be 1.2.y.z

Hi,

Have found [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\SENSOR\0000\Device Parameters\kxfusion] but on my system there is no entry for orientation.

Can this be added and if so please can you tell me how to do so

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian_HW,

In regedit, right-click in the white space under "ACPI\SMO8500\1-0" and select New -> Binary value. From there, you can enter 7 bytes: 01 01 01 00 00 00 02. After that disable and re-enable "Kionix Sensor Fusion Device" or reboot your tablet (I'm not sure this works if fast restart is enabled).

You can also make a .reg file out of this and import it into regedit:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\SENSOR\0000\Device Parameters\kxfusion]

"Orientation"=hex:01,01,01,00,00,00,02

I don't really understand what you mean by saying "is the rotation different with the orientation registry value set". It doesn't matter which way I turn the tablet.  I'll try to install drivers versions you mentioned and return with results.

When you add the Orientation registry value (and disable/enable Sensors\kxfusion), does the rotation of the screen change from when there is no Orientation value? I'm trying to find out if it's having any effect at all.
