the error code: 0x8007005 = Access Denied, this means that you did NOT run the command Prompt in administrator mode!

It is not enough that your the administrator user on the computer you need to do the following:

Click the window in your left lower corner --> All Apps --> Windows System --> "RIGHT CLICK ON THE" Command Prompt --> "Choose" MORE --> Run in administrator mode --> then type:

netcfg –u ms_irdanetcfg –c p –I ms_irda

press Enter

follow instructions on the screen.

if you still get 0x8007005

then there is something else wrong with your comp ;)

All riiiiiiiiiiiiiight! Hurray!

I've been away for the past month, and was unable to confirm the status of the latest general public release of Windows 10: Version 1511, build 10586.318. (Check Settings/System/About to verify your version.)

However, I can now confirm what others in this forum have stated, recently.

If you carefully follow the instructions in KB3150989, IrDA support for the Polar Heart Monitor (RS800CX) infra-red dongle will become re-activated. No problem!

Thank you, Microsoft!

Yes, also verified this during the weekend. But you explicitely need to use 'run as admin', as mentioned above.

Also posted this in the Polar Puls forum.

KB3150989 works, but driver for SIGMAtel dongle is still not installed. Win10 refuses it

with "Die Treiber für dieses Gerät wurden nicht installiert. (Code 28)
Es sind keine kompatiblen Treiber für dieses Gerät vorhanden."

Do not work for datatransmission from Luna or SOL divecomputers. I try to use divemate instead.

I tried to install as per instructions in KB3150989 and got expected results for CMD prompt but the adaptor did not work (for Polar). Checked control panel Device Manager and got error message "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
Eventually I tried disabling Ir adaptor in Device Manager then when I plugged it in again it worked OK!
