What is the meaning of 'device could not be migrated' in Properties->device manager?

Please give me the meaning of it.

In Control panel> device manager> Human Interface Device> HID compliant touchscreen> Properties> Events

Touchscreen is not working. Please view screenshot. What is meaning of 'device not migrated'

I'm having the same problem - none of my USB ports will work at the moment - was working fine and just quit and I found the same message in the events list

Yea, me too. I run Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3 with dock. I use 3 monitors, and ever since the beginning of September one of them doesn't work in this configuration. The monitor works fine with other systems. Tried everything, date in device manager/properties/events is 2015-07-31 if that's any help. Monitor is ASUS PB2780Q, driver is

Microsoft/2006-06-21/10.0.10240.16384, and the information field in Events is

Device DISPLAY\SEC3542\4&8643be4&0&UID265988 could not be migrated.

I have the same problem with the audi drivers (Realtek High Definition) in a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. Win10 too.

Not even downloading the drivers from Lenovo works.

A Microsoft driver fails even though it does not report any failure during installation.

I guess an option would be to go back to Win 8.1, but that would take a lot of time!

No I have not got an answer.

My issue is with an Audio driver. The manufacturer provides a driver that claims to be Win10 compatible, but the driver does not install correctly either because it cannot be migrated' or because the "device is incorrectly configured" or some other error.

Probably the driver is not that Win10 compatible as it should be. I was going to leave some feedback in the manufacturer's website.

The basic MS drivers install successfully, but do not work.

The only consequence of this is that I have no audio and no mic. That could have some impact in my job. That's why I might go back to Win8.1.

Exact same problem. USBs and card readers on the front of my machine. Every one of them "device could not be migrated" This after installing Windows 10 a few days ago.

Thankfully, the USBs on the back all work.
