Unknown device in device manager, windows 10 pro Dell inspirion 5000 model 7548 error (code 28)

I purchased Dell inspirion 5000 laptop model 7548 with windows 10 home. I upgraded hard drive to SSD and OS to windows 10 pro. Now in device manager I see 3 "unknown devices" with yellow sign of exclamation. When I click them they give (code 28) which reflects that no drivers installed.

My question is how to find out what devices are they and how to find right drivers?

I tried Dell support, Dell system detect software and downloading some drivers manually but it did not help.

Dell support is very disappointing I spent few hours and they keep transferring to multiple departments and last guy from advanced software team had been trying hard to sell me software contract for $230 for a year to resolve drivers issues.

Error code 28 indicates that the drivers for that device are not installed.

I suggest you to restore the drivers to previous version by rolling back. To restore a driver to its previous version, kindly follow the below given steps.

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

  • Press Windows key + X and then click on Device Manager.
  • Double-click the category containing your device driver, and then double-click the name of the device that you want to restore to a previous driver version.
  • Click the Driver tab, and then click Roll Back Driver.

If you are logged on as a standard user, the button will be dimmed, which means it's unavailable. You must be logged on as an administrator to roll back a driver.

To know about the drivers, kindly right click on the drivers and then click on properties. You will get all the information related to the drivers.
