Toshiba XG5 512GB experiencing slow write speeds after update KB4100403

After installing the latest Windows updates, including Version 1803 and KB4100403, my Toshiba XG5's sequential write speeds have fallen from ~2000 MB/s to ~460 MB/s, slower than its 4K 8 queue depth, 4 thread random write speed.

Something is not right here! Can Microsoft please clarify what changes were made to the NVMe drivers for the XG5 series and investigate this issue?

My SDD is the Toshiba XG5 512GB, KXG50ZNV512G.

My system is the Huawei Matebook X Pro, Core i7, 16 GB, MX150 configuration.

Microsoft is said to have fixed this in the latest cumulative update:

After upgrading to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, select devices with Toshiba XG4 Series, Toshiba XG5 Series, or Toshiba BG3 Series SSDs may exhibit lower battery life.

This issue is resolved in KB4100403.

To get Windows 10, version 1803, we encourage you to wait until the update is offered to your device following the June Update Tuesday. If you’re an advanced user on an actively serviced version of Windows 10 and would like to install Windows 10 version 1803, you can manually check for updates. In the Search tab, type “Settings”. On the Settings page, navigate to Update & security > Windows Update > click “Check for updates”, which will include this resolution.

Make sure you install that update:

Download and install May 23, 2018—KB4100403 (OS Build 17134.81) manually:

It's not resolved in KB100304. As I indicated in the other thread:

"I'm still having slow write speeds on my Huawei Matebook X Pro with 512GB Toshiba XG5; even after the KB100403 update. Indeed, the issue may have even become worse."

Hi Andre,

As written in my original question, I've already installed KB4100403 and am experiencing the slow write speeds. I believe this issue is separate from the battery life problem that KB4100403 is purported to fix.

I am also having this issue with a Dell XPS 8930.

Read speeds are fine but the write speeds are slow/laggy and have a response time of 10000-20000ms according to the task manager.  I have the latest update referenced above and also tried the most recent Toshiba drivers released on the Dell support site on May 31, 2018.

Any suggestions would be great.

I have exactly the same SSD and exactly the same slow write speed. KB4100403 didn't fix the issue, not at all.
