Problem with ICH10 Family USB Universal Host Controller Drivers

Hello --

Windows 10 Pro TH2 x64, i7-980x, Truckee 1.04 motherboard.

Upon reinstalling Windows, it keeps trying to install ICH10 Family USB Universal Host Controller drivers for XP.

In Device Manager:

When I try install drivers using online search (Windows Update):

The driver name is "OEM15.INF". I tried Driver Booster, Driver Max and Driver Toolkit to no avail. The thing is, I didn't have this problem before reinstallation a couple of days ago. Maybe it's TH2?

Please advise.

Answer

Intel says no driver exist for windows 10 & ICH10 or ICH10R chipset..Follow this link

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/1145/Intel-Chipset-Software-Installation-Utility

Sorry,intel does have a windows 10 chipset/software downloads,use this link

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=windows+10

Also,the ICH10 is a controller,you need to start with the chipset installation,1st then ICH10

You need to go one step farther than the last intel link, its not offering chipset software, chipset software/

drivers controll USB/networking/audio/video,etc the i7 processor depends on it.

This intel link is windows 10 only/support,it will get you going.

http://www.intel.com/support/Win10.htm

Also, never install the 3rd party software that claims to install/fix youre pc hardware/software/drivers,only

go to intel,or youre pc mfg web
