Hi John W,

Woundering if you could help me. I have an HP ENVY x2 11-g001tu computer which I just updated from Windows 8.1 to 10. Speakers were fine before but have now stopped working. I don't think that there are any drivers tested for my specific computer designed for windows 10. Do you know of any work arounds?

Intel SST Audio Device (WDM)

ACPI\VEN_INTC&DEV_33B3
ACPI\INTC33B3
*INTC33B3

Realtek I2S Audio Codec

ACPI\VEN_INTC&DEV_CFFD
ACPI\INTCCFFD
*INTCCFFD

I'm seeing a few problems with these machines that combine the Intel SST and Realtek codec. I believe Intel's working on a fix for it, I'll check into the progress. Thanks!

EDIT: What exactly is the symptom? If you try to play a test tone does it work or give an error? If you try to play sound do the green bars bounce?

For details on these requests check out my blog post here:

Thanks!

John W [MSFT]

I have been checking for updated drivers regularly but haven't had much luck. Do you know if there has been any progress at HP?

The test sound does not work but the green bars do bounce.

I have had the same problem as Bert1.

I did not have audio after doing a updrage of w10 build 10524 to W10 build 10586.

After some troubleshooting i found out that de Intel SST audio device(WDM) driver is at fault. The culprit was driver version: 604.10154.1010.4947 [4-8-2015]. After reverting to version: 603.9600.2801.45084 [27-6-2014] or version: 603.9600.1948.25487 [30-9-2013] i got sound back.

I've had this exact problem with my Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet and no solution worked, until I discovered that I had to update the Realtek Audio Codec too, not just my Intel SST Audio driver.

Not sure if this approach solves your problem too, but it solved mine. And if you happen to have a device with the same combination (intel sst and realtek codec), I've uploaded only those drivers in a zip file here:

After trying several proposed solutions, i have tryed in intel site, autodetect drivers, install it and then, when it doesnt find the drivers for my equipment, i install atom z3000 series drivers. After that... works great!

Hope someone find this helpful
