LifeCam HD-3000 Windows 10

Hi,

I've upgraded my laptop to Windows 10.  Today I purchased a new webcam. LifeCam HD-3000.

Went to the download center to get the drivers. In the driver download dropdown box there is no mention of Windows 10 just XP up to 8. But since an old Logitech works fine I thought it would be fine. I selected Windows 8.

A few minutes into the download I get the following 'Set-up cannot continue because an unexpected error hs occurred'

Are there specific drivers I need for Windows 10?

Hope someone can advise.

Many thanks.

Hi,

We suggest that you try to uninstall USB Root Hub in the Device Manager. Kindly unplug first the LifeCam before performing the steps provided below:

  1. Press Windows key + R  and then type devmgmt.msc.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Select Universal Serial bus controllers in Device Manager.
  4. Right-click USB Root Hub and select Uninstall.
  5. Restart your computer and it will automatically install back the driver again.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

Most programs created for earlier versions of Windows also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows doesn't work correctly, you can try changing the compatibility settings for the program, either by using the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter or manually choosing compatibility settings.
