Floppy disk drive and windows 10

Hi

I'm running windows 10 and have just purchased a 3.5 inch USB floppy disk drive. The computer can finally find the unit but cannot read the inserted disk.

The message I get is that A:\ is not accessible.

The disk media is not recognized. It may not be formatted.

I know that the disk is formatted as it is a data disk, Can anyone help?

Cheers

Therese
