Fall creators update broke miracast (including wireless display adapter)

I was regularly using my wireless display adapter on my hp spectre x360 4009na. Then I upgraded to Fall creators edition and it will not connect. The wireless display adapter works with someone else's computer. I also cannot connect to a LG tv that I was previously able to connect to. The computer still says miracast is supported but when I try to connect it says connecting and then fails.

Unfortunately I deleted the save point so I can't go back.

I've tried updating and rolling back the display and network drivers.

I need the miracast ability for work, any ideas about how to get it back?

Note: We're only dealing with the HP computer with Win10 installed on the HDD. None of the following pertains to the external HDD or any other computers!

You might try the following:

1. Download (but do not Run) the Norton Remove and Reinstall [NRNR] tool. [1]

2. Download (but do not Run) the McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool [MCPR]. [2]

3, Uninstall Norton Security & reboot.

4. Make **CERTAIN** that Windows Defender & Firewall are both enabled and working properly!

5. Run the Norton utility from #1 above, selecting the REMOVE option, not the REMOVE AND REINSTALL option!

6. Reboot then run the McAfee utility from #2 above [ignore the log] then reboot again.

7. Test Miracast/wireless display adapter functionality.

8. OPTIONAL/NOT RECOMMENED YET: Do a clean install of Norton Security. [3]

Good luck!

COMMENT: You're not the first Fall Creators Update "early adapter" to run into this problem and chances are you won't be the list. The problem MIGHT be addressed in a forthcoming "performance" update or cumulative update for Win10 1709. No, I have NOT seen a Microsoft page where such a Known Issue has been acknowledged (yet).
