Windows 10: application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware

hello!

This question has been asked different times, over and over!

BUT STILL NO FIX.

I tried everything mentioned in every single post that i could find.

The problem started within a game ( battlefield 4) but the ERROR is now turning up in every program.

Everything is up to date, system as well as drivers.

I started to get the problem after an update in windows (don't know wich one)

The updates are there for making windows BETTER right?

The problem appears to infect Nvidia and AMD. So it must be an Windows issue.

No working solution is given by ANY of the Microsoft engineers... its frustrating!!!

I've disabled the automatic updates in Win 10 (no reason to force the updates on me) It's my pc and bandwith!!

So because i do the updates myself, i have a good guess its one of the updates in windows because the problems started short after that.

Please find a solution!!!!!!

Having the same problem too, since a few days and haven't found any solutions, including the ones posted in several of these threads in here. It's very very annoying and the more that there's still no solution after so long.

I'm running Windows 10 in Bootcamp on a late 2013 iMac with native drivers, all up to date, all applications worked fine for months and now the problem occured. Tried everything suggested, but nothing works. None of the methods suggested by Microsoft representatives work. Microsoft obviously doesn't either. I'm this close to wiping Windows 10 off of my system again and forget about it. If I only use MacOS at least I KNOW why stuff doesn't work.

In Windows 10, no one knows why it occurs, no one knows how to dodge it and MS reps are guessing as much as anyone else. This is so frustrating to get the message and sort it out yourself. >.<

Got "MicrosoftEdgeC was blocked from accessing graphics hardware".  My graphics is "Intel HD graphics 530" only.  Running Windows 10, i7 6700 cpu.  I have the most recent Intel driver for my graphics device (i.e. 21.20.16.4590).  Had been having screen tearing for several months, now this has occurred.  Before this happened the display was solid.

Odd, the screen tearing occurs in the section of the screen where the "Start" tiles are, or in a browser, or in games (like MS solitare, MS minsweeper or MS Mahjong).  Plus sometimes get artifacts (i.e. green pixels flashing on/off) in other sections of these screen sections.  NOTE: my desktop is rock solid, as well as MS Office 2010 and any other desktop applications.

Hello Tom

I to had this issue.

Lucky me, my graphics card needed replacing and was still under warranty. Was an AMD Radeon R9 200 Series. Now have Nvidia works perfect.

Everything worked on windows 7 pro 64bit and once I upgraded to windows 10 it went faulty.

It could be a faulty driver on windows that pops the card but Microsoft won't say anything even it were true.

My suggestion will be to get a new card because there is a fault on the current card.

I tried the steps from Mohan Babu ER, but had to do some variations.  However, my issue still persists.

Steps I did:

Method 1: Run the System Maintenance troubleshooter and check if it helps.
1.  Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press enter.
2.  Select Troubleshooting. Click on view all and select System Maintenance.
3.  Click next and follow the on-screen instructions.
    NO ISSUES FOUND.

If the issue still persists, try method 2.

Method 2: Uninstall and Re-install the graphic card driver.
You can follow the below steps.
1. Press Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc.
2. Select the graphic driver.
3. Click on properties, click on uninstall tab.
4. Click OK.
5. Restart the computer after its uninstalled.

Now download the drivers from manufacturer website and install it in Windows 10 compatibility mode. Follow the steps provided below to install the drivers in compatibility mode:
1. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on properties.
2. Click on the compatibility tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select

Windows 10 operating system from the drop down.  (NOTE: could not do this step as DropDown only lists Windows XP to Windows 8.  So I just ran the Setup.exe with "Run as Administrator", also had turned OFF my Anti-Virus software during the install.)
3. Click on Apply and click OK and run the file to install it.

If the issue still persists, try method 3.

Method 3: Run the Hardware Devices troubleshooter.

1. Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.
2. Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
3. Click on view all on the left pane.
4. Click on Hardware and devices under Devices.
5. Click on Advanced on the Hardware and devices dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).  (NOTE:  there was NO "Run as administrator", however I was logged in as an administrator.)
6. Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

    NO ISSUES FOUND.

I had updated to Intel's latest driver for my Intel HD graphics 530 device (Intel 15.45.16.4627 [which in the graphics 530 properties shows as 21.20.16.4627]) and still had problems.  Then the next weekly Microsoft Windows 10 update came out and everything was working perfectly.

Everything was stable for about two weeks, then the artifacts started to return.  Not as bad as the prior ones but still some screen tearing and flickering graphics and some sprites.

It seems to be in those area that are heavily graphically oriented (Start tiles, Browsers [Edge, Firefox, Chrome] and the Google Earth globe & street view).  My desktop and MS office and other desktop programs are stable.
