Toshiba DVD Player TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN=208AB 64 bit driver

I have a Toshiba Satellite P875-S7102 Part # PSPLEV-048003 Serial #3D302395Q 64 bit operating system.

When I bought it, it had Windows 8.0 operating system 64 bit installed and the DVDRW player worked fine. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and lost my DVD player. tried all the suggestions and never got it to work. I recently up graded to Windows 10 hoping it would correct the problem, no luck. I have disabled it and enabled it, uninstalled it and installed it with no luck I have installed a  Pioneer DVD-RW DVRKD08 USB player and windows installs the same driver and it will not work either. The driver Windows keeps using is Microsoft driver dated 6/21/2006 version  10.0.10240.16384.

Anyone know what it will take to fix it?

As you are facing issues with accessing DVD player on Windows 10. Try the below and check if it helps.

I suggest you to run Hardware and devise troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  2. Click on view all option on the upper left corner of Troubleshooting window.
  3. Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  4. Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

Hope it helps. Reply to the post with an updated status of this issue for further assistance.

Also, there is the following FAQ from Toshiba which also applies to Windows 10 upgrade:

Try uninstalling the two programs (TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator, TOSHIBA Disc Creator) if they are installed.

Be sure to restart the computer afterward.

I tried the troubleshooter for Hardware and Sound in Windows 10 with no luck. Do not have a Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

The Pioneer DVD-RW DVRKD08 USB player is a USB player attached to the computer. I hooked it up because I can not get the one in the computer to work. The DVD player in the  computer, TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN=208AB w/32bit driver still does not work.

In the Device Manager can you double-click the drive.

Under the "General" tab what is the "Device status"?
