Realtek Audio Issue with ASUS Transformer Mini t102HA

I've just received a brand new asus transformer mini t102HA.  Right out of the box YouTube would give me an error code.  I later discovered that Groove Music also put up the following error: 0x800705aa.  I managed to get the audio working again briefly by reinstalling the Realtek driver but after a few minutes it would stop working again.  I also tried resetting windows however it did not improve the situation.  The Windows store employees seemed to think it was an issue coming up on low power Atom chips (which is what the t102HA has) and the latest windows update.  Has anyone heard of this issue?

First uninstall the Realtek Audio driver from Control panel>Programs and Features.

Restart the PC.

Download the correct Audio driver version from official Realtek website

Install the driver.

Version: R2.81  Date: 2017/1/13

Thanks for your reply Viktor. My W10 version is 64 bit however when I try to install those drivers from Realtek I get an error saying they can't be run on my computer.  I can redownload the ones from ASUS but I've tried them several times without luck.  Can I run the 32 bit drivers on my 64 bit computer?

Looks like your solution worked Viktor.  The 64 bit driver hadn't downloaded properly the first time.  On a second try the driver installed and now my sound does appear to be working.  Hopefully ASUS will update their official drivers soon or I can see a lot of these tablets being returned back to them.  Thanks again.

Wow, this is a weird issue.  Looks like the sound broke again.  Upon reboot it works but it seems only temporarily.  If I play a video or use groove music it will play but if I leave it idle it stops working and I get the error messages mentioned above.  Infuriating problem frankly.  Wish I knew if this was happening with other ASUS mini's.  Don't want to replace this unit with another if that is the case.

The Download section not available for now from ASUS website. Look Like the manufacturer working on your drivers.

You have now any error code in device manager ?

Hi,

It seems I have exactly the same problem.

System model - T102HA

Version - 1703

OS build - 15063.674

I have reinstalled official sound driver but an error message pops up again every time I try to see a video.

Would appreciate your help..

Is anyone still having this issue?

I'm now on version 1709 and so far so sound seems OK unless the system is doing a lot of work at once.  When the system is downloading and installing a lot of updates or something that takes up a lot of processing power the sound can crackle, but it never actually stops working.
