New windows 10 driver for Canoscan 4400F

My Canoscan 4400F performed properly on my Lenovo Z50-70 with Windows 10 for several weeks until last night when Windows 10 was updated. Now it is absolutely useless with the Canon Software and also using the Windows 10 scanner app.

Microsoft on this website, claims compatibility for the Canon 4400F with Windows 10 both for the 32 and 64 bit versions. Canon emphatically claims that there is no driver available for Windows 10. Seems like they are both right because the scanner did work until last night.

Does anyone have a solution?

Step 1:

Try to install the Windows 8.1 drivers and check.

Step 2:

I would suggest you to install the latest driver in compatibility mode and check if issue persist.
 
Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:
1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.
2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.
3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.
4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.
5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
