Hi Anele,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

I would suggest you to try the below methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: Run the SFC.

Follow the below steps:

  1. Open Command Prompt.

  2. Select “Run as Administrator”.

  3. Type “sfc /scannow” without quotes and hit Enter.

Now check for the issue.

Method 2: Run the DISM Tool.

If the issue persists, I would have you run the DISM tool to check the system health and will try to restore the files.

  1. Click on 'Start'.

  2. Enter 'Command prompt' in the Search box.

  3. In the list of results, swipe down on or right-click Command Prompt, and then tap or click 'Run as administrator'

  4. In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press the Enter key after each command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

To close the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.

Note: The tool might take 15-20 minutes to finish running, so please do not cancel it.

Method 3:

Refer to the below article and check if that helps:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff558949%28v=vs.85%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you.

I get this under Windows 10 - also about every 3 days (I never got it under WIndows 7). I'm starting to think that I need to reboot every 2 days, but there must be a better solution.  I normally leave my computer on all of the time - here are the dates/times it's happened to me:

9/10/2015 11:56:43 AM
9/7/2015 9:32:04 PM

9/4/2015 12:36:00 PM

8/31/2015 11:17:49 AM

I went thru all of the steps listed in this thread:

sfc /scannow

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

but they haven't helped.

I have suddenly been getting a lot of BSD System Service exceptions. - dxgkrnl.sys, Win32kbase.sys, etc.

It started when I (was automatically!) upgraded to Build 10586 about three weeks ago.

As it was done in middle of night, or otherwise some timewhen I was not at screen, I'm not sure if perhaps Windows crashed in middle and then rebooted.. And I never noticed.

But I started getting errors.

So last week, I finally backed out to the previous build 10576 and now these crashes are happening once every day or so.

In addition, my Firefox (both 32  & 64 versions) and Chrome keep abending. I think Edge also is.

I'll try to run the the DISM as suggested above, but -

in the meantime, is there some way I can properly re-install the latest "Fast track" Build? I seem to be stuck on this Build 10576 permanently!

See the following -

Hi,

Just did the two DISM scans.  Nothing.  Doing the sfc scan now (no pun intended)

If there's any confusion as to why I'm posting, I'm having the same issue since I used a background changer to change the login screen backgroundbackground. . I had the same issue once on Windows 7 when trying to do the same thing So now I'm just trying to fix it

Thanks,
Timmy Trumpet

Well, I don't remember this thread, but I'm in it.  Whatever MY problem was, it was solved long ago.

I'm now running quite well on Build 11082...

Guess I better unsubscribe to this thread!   ;-)
