Bluetooth works for 30 seconds and then stops

I upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10... Boy, what a huge mistake that was...

Months later I am still struggling with problems. One of the biggest issues is with my (previously working) bluetooth.

Basically, bluetooth won't work... So here is what I have tried to fix it.

  1. Uninstall all bluetooth drivers in device manager
  2. Search for hardware changes
  3. The computer scans for hardware changes, and eventually install the drivers for the bluetooth
  4. The drivers install correctly
  5. My bluetooth keyboard works just fine for around 30 seconds...
  6. Then the driver gets a yellow exclamation mark after it and totally stops working from then on

I can take a screenshot if nobody believes me. Very frustrating.

Here are some screenshots I have taken.

In the first one you can see that bluetooth appears to be working fine. The drivers are loaded (although I don't know why they are under the "unknown" category device manager). You can even see devices in the bluetooth page, and I have the little blue bluetooth icon down the bottom of the window.

In the second screenshot the drivers have disappeared and I have the yellow exclamation mark on the Generic Bluetooth Adaptor. Bluetooth icon is gone.

Notice the time on the clock down in the bottom corner!

This happens without me touching a single thing on the computer between bluetooth working and then not working. Very frustrating!

Hi,

Please contact your computer manufacturer and ask for a Bluetooth driver specifically for Windows 10.

Upon checking, we found that there is no Bluetooth driver available for your laptop that is specific for Windows 10, meaning to say, we won't be able to update or replace the Bluetooth driver for your computer.

Instead, we suggest that you purchase a Bluetooth adapter so that you may be able to use the Bluetooth feature.

That's all fine and good, but the Windows 10 upgrade tool didn't mention anything about breaking my Bluetooth.

It basically said "Yep, it's all fine. Go and upgrade and have a happy and carefree life".

So the upgrade basically broke a part of the computer that I used on an everyday basis. With all of the prior information to tell me it was going to break it. But it didn't tell me.

And now you are suggesting that the solution is to go and PAY for something that I didn't need before but because your new software broke it I now have to do it.

What's worse, during the upgrade it said "Hey, be chill! If the upgrade doesn't work you can always go back!"

Well that was a load of B.S! I tried to revert back to Windows 7 today - turns out that you can't do this if more than 30 days have elapsed! And I just happen to be on frigging day 32!!!
