Windows 10 file sharing without workgroup

In May, Windows removed the workgroup for file sharing. How do I share files amongst 2 computers on my local network. Do I need to add a sharing user account on each computer?

When MS remove Homegroup from Windows v1803 that caused also some another issues with network sharing.

Here is my solution how I get network working when update to 1803.

Most important part is to start some required services. That make your PC's visible in File Explorer network devices.

Push Win Key and type "Services", locate those services, start them and set Start type to Automatic (Delayed Start).

Services are:

   - Function Discovery Provider Host

   - Function Discovery Resource Publication

   - SSDP Discovery

   - UPnP Device Host

Update = Replace old bugs with new ones.

HMMM how does printer sharing share PC's and devices. HMMM. LOL.

And on your link, if Homegroup is gone as you show, then how the hell does give access to work if it is for Homegroup. This will not share at all doing this as you show.

Sharing files on the network

1. To locally share files(s), simply right click on the file(s) and select Share.

2. This should open the Share charm and you can even share the file(s) using sharing apps that you downloaded from Store.

Never seen this Share in context list. Does not exist for Home Network.

Maybe for a PDF file and for online sharing THROUGH EMAIL OR MICROSOFT ACCOUNT. THIS IS NOT HOME NETWORK SHARING

3. In case if you want to share file(s) on the network, right click on it and select Give access to > Specific people. You can then add the network locations to share the file with<<<<<This will not share diddily

THIS IS TOTAL NONSENSE. GIVE ACCESS TO DOES NOT WORK WITHOUT HOMEGROUP. >>> IT IS DEAD AND USELESS. <<<

So this is how you can share files on network now.

NO IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT HOW YOU SHARE ON YOUR NETWORK. GO EDUCATE YOURSELF

HERE MAYBE THIS WILL HELP YOU:

And you are an MPV here and telling people total false garbage. LOL.

If you still want HomeGroup feature, you can downgrade to V1709 or make a clean install of it.

That’s it!
