OneDrive not synced, but it says

On the system tray, OneDrive status says up to date.

However, on the file explorer some files have status a "tick icon" and many are still showing "cloud icon". So many are still not synced down to my hard disk.

How do I force it to sync? and why is the OneDrive icon on the system tray says up-to-date? when it's not?

I think it's because my "Files On-Demand" checkbox is ticked. But this is greyed-out.

Why is it greyed out? I can't untick it.

Thanks

I followed what it says here, and it works to force a download to local copies.

Mark a file or folder for offline use or as online-only

  1. Right-click a file or folder.

  2. Select Always keep on this device or Free up space.

HI AE. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 10 year Windows MVP here to help you.

If only the cloud icon is present it means the files are set to Files On Demand which only provide a download link. See more here:

I'd also check if Folder Protection has been turned on which moves Desktop, Pictures and Documents folders into OneDrive:

For other sync issues with OneDrive:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

It looks like your files are syncing just fine.  A cloud icon means it's a cloud-only file and a green tick means it is also available locally on your device.  Right click your files and select "Always keep on this device" if you want them always available locally.
