PS I do not know if the things I clicked below are correct

* Moved from Insider

Go to the Start Menu.  Find 'My PC' under "Windows System" in the list at left, click it.  The C: drive should appear in the top left of the new window that will open in the right pane.  If you double click that drive graphic, it will open to show you the folder 'tree' on that drive.  Help you out?  :>)

Click on the Icon in the taskbar that looks like a yellow folder in a little blue folder stand.

Then you should see it so you can click on it to open it.

'C' is always the default drive letter for the operating system drive/ partition in use.

The situation is as follows

I have AVAST antivirus and it tells me that I have

11 GB system junk

25 programs slowing down pc

3278 broken registry items

1 junk programs

1 PC health program

I have no clue what these things are.

My Laptop otherwise runs Ok

Of course AVAST tells me to fix it I have to pay $ for 1 year

Avast is one of the problems when Installing Insider Build and should be Removed to help make Insider Build Installs work better but Insider Builds will always have some Bugs an some things that don't work as they should.

Hope things work out and you get done what You need.:)

If you are using Insider Builds it shows as a water mark in the bottom Right of the Desktop Screen and you can Check it with Settings by Clicking on the Win logo in the Task bar and type about then hit the Enter key to see the build info when you scroll down in the right side. of the settings window.

Edit:   Forgot to put a Watermark Snip here so now it should be below

If you want to know what an Insider is click this link: https://insider.windows.com/en-us/

Now, you might be tempted to join the program because they get all the cool advanced stuff first. I should caution you, however, that those cool and advanced things can cause many headaches and one should be VERY computer savvy (and have a spare computer around as well) before joining this program.

THEY are the real heroes who test the cool, advanced, and somewhat "iffy" improvements before us regular users get exposed to them.

So. Avast wants your money before they will fix anything do they?

I advise you to uninstall Avast and use your Windows Defender Security Center instead.

Also, you can download and run the free Safety Scanner from Microsoft that will check (and remove) any viruses you may actually have.

It is available here:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/products/scanner

And your C Drive is here:
