There are many ways of transferring files but if you don't already own one I'd recommend purchasing an external usb hard drive onto which you can copy (use copy and paste - not cut/paste) your folders. These can then be copied in turn to your new laptop,
but leave the copies on the external drive as back-up for future use. I'm guessing a 500 gb external drive would probably be the size to go for. - Best, Ric.
