Downloads and OneDrive Location

I am looking to save and create more space on my Surface Pro 3 running Win 10 Pro. My C drive is getting close to full so I bought a nice SD card that will now stay plugged in.

What am I trying to do?

- Make the default Downloads folder location to be my new SD card location.

  - Several guides and tips have found online so far say I just need to right click, properties, then change the location.

  - When I try that method, it is not giving me any option to move or change the location.

- The same for my OneDrive folder.

Actually, I don't think you should be moving your personal folders to the SD card. What you should be doing is moving apps you download from the Store or make store download games and apps to the SD card.

You should also enable OneDrive on Demand. Learn more:

Hi Curt,

To move a library folder like your Downloads Folder:
In Windows File Explorer, create the new folder, you intend to use for Downloads
Then, click Quick Access in the Left Pane
In the right hand pane, right click the Downloads Folder
Choose Properties
In the resulting dialog, click on the Location Tab
On the location page, click 'Move' and navigate to the new folder you created
When asked if you want to merge files, choose Yes

To move the OneDrive Folder:
In the left Pane choose This PC
In the Right hand pane, click the OneDrive Folder
On the Home Ribbon, in the Organise Section, click 'Move to'
Choose the location to move OneDrive to . . .

Hi Andre,

I don't really download apps from the store. I use my Surface primarily for work. Due to the nature of my work, I find myself needing to access my OneDrive files offline quite often, and let it sync once back to a good WiFi area. I just looked into the On Demand OneDrive feature but don't think that setting will work well for me when I am out of cell and WiFi range. Thank you though!

Hi Dave,

Thank you. I have moved my Downloads folder and am moving my OneDrive folders now.  It would not let me change the OneDrive location itself but was able to move the separate folder locations. Will see how this works. Thanks!

200G SD card.

OneDrive files loaded on the computer:

67'sh+ G

Dont really use the "My Documents" folder. All of my documents are saved to my OneDrive folders so they can be synced automatically when able.
