What are the correct permissions for the System32 folder in Windows 10? ESENT Errors

The System32 folder is set for read only for all users including SYSTEM. The event log is full of ESENT errors with different ID's. It seems Windows 10 is trying to create log files but it cannot write the files.

I would suggest you to try this and check.

Enable the built-in administrator and checker.

  1. Press Windows +X and select command prompt admin

  2. Type: net user administrator /active:yes

  3. Type Exit

  4. Log off and log back on as administrator.

Check if the issue persist.
