Drag and drop files from taskbar in Win10

We tried the same we could not drag and drop items .So I suggest you to use the Windows Feedback app to send your thoughts directly to the team building Windows.

I found that this has already been raised in the Feedback App. So unfortunately there isn't a quick fix.

I agree, this is painful. Any faster way besides going to the folder directly?

I couldn't find a less painful work around. 

I can't believe they left this feature out of Windows 10.  I have no idea what the "Copy" option is supposed to do when you right click the file name. It doesn't seem to do anything.

This weekend I'm going to investigate how to down grade back to Windows 8.  I spend far too much time each day looking for my files. My work day is stressful enough as it is without spending half of it swearing at Microsoft.

Hi, having same problem, no matter what I was trying to drag and drop in any program or file after Win 10 upgrade.  I did a little research and found this.  I just kept tapping Esc while dragging and it fixed it.

Press Esc in the midst of dragging, it's been rumored to reset the DnD feature.
Also try some others Shift/Drag,
Ctrl/Shift/Drag or,
right click Ctrl/Shift/Drag.

Nope... none of that worked.

I agree Microsoft should add this recent file drag and drop into Win10 IMMEDIATELY.

Another slightly less painful workaround to looking thru file folders is to left click on the recent file to open it, in the open file click 'file' and 'share' and 'email' and 'send as attachment'.  That will place a copy in a new email then you can cut and paste the file to the email you really want to send.  

Still too many steps but you can avoid the multiple file folder look-up issue.
