How can I uninstall Windows 10

I recently installed the free Windows 10 upgrade (from Windows 7 Home Premium) and I regret to say that I am not satisfied at all with Windows 10. The system is slow and not very user friendly (reminds me of Windows Vista) and some of the new features are (at least for my use) unnecessary and sometimes downright confusing. Bottom line, I would like to uninstall Windows 10 and go back to Windows 7 Home Premium. How do I do this ??

I am using an ACER Aspire 5532 laptop, bought in 2012.

Thank you

I want to uninstall Windows 10. I am very disappointed in it. Wireless keyboard will not work. I cannot personalize as I did before. I tried to restore but it only shows the date that Windows 10 was installed. Is there another way to go back to Windows 8.1 (which I really liked by the way)? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I installed windows 10 but unfortunately had to uninstall it as it wouldn't allow me to use my air printer, so I know how you feel.

To uninstall     click : Start

                        click : Settings

                        choose :  update & security

choose:   recovery (if you can't see it scroll down to bottom of page, as mines was hidden in a

                                                         corner)

choose:   go back to windows seven or whichever windows you had then wait.

It should take between 1-2 hours depending on your PC.  You only have a month from installing to uninstalling. So if you leave it too late you will be stuck with windows 10.

When it has finished uninstalling they will ask you why you didn't like it.  Try to be truthful as this will help them to make improvements. Read the info that follows as it will tell you that some of your Apps or programmes may have been uninstalled  whilst windows 10 was installing, so you will have to reinstall them.

Hope this helps you.

This is fine and works but windows 10 keeps on trying to download and will not stop even though code was hidden

temp solution was to stop all updates because w10 always starts first and will not go away

routine updates are now piling up

Hi,

Not sure what is happening there but you could try clicking the windows box on the bottom right corner of your  task bar and clicking cancel which should cancel the update. You might have to first click,  to check the status of the update then click to cancel. Hope tis helps.

I did not make myself clear

I have uninstalled windows 10 and am back on windows 8.1

however the update service holds an instruction to redownload windows 10

even though i have hidden it

it appears as the first download update despite not being selected

I have amended settings to stop automatic downloads

I cannot now get any windows 8 updates which are piling up

Hi,

If you restore your PC to an earlier date before you installed windows ten, then it should take you back to windows 8.1 but make a note of any apps you have installed most recently as they will be uninstalled if you backdate your PC. Then just re install them. Hope this helps.

Hi,

If you restore your PC to an earlier date, before you had windows 10 then it should take you back to just windows 8.1 but make a note of  any apps you have installed recently, as they will be uninstalled when you backdate your PC, then just re install them. Then your windows 8 updates will resume.

Hope this helps.
