problem in activating windows "cant activate try again later"

I would like to inform you that you should make sure that you are updating to the correct version of Windows while upgrading. If you are upgrading to a different version of Windows then that product key won’t work.

The error 0xC004F074 can occur with a support version mismatch between the KMS client and the KMS host machine. You can refer to the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.

When trying to activate you get 0xC004F074 with description "The Key Management Server (KMS) is unavailable"

Note: Applies to Windows 7, but suitable to your scenario.

I agree with you on Linux.  I am so damn tired of having activation issues with Windows and not getting anyone on the phone that can do better than read off of a printed script.  Windows 10?  MS can't even get Windows 8.1 working right.
