Photoshop crashing

Hi,

i just had a upgrade from 32 bit windows 7 to 64 bit windows 8.1 (my processor supports it), and
installed Photoshop cc.

when i start editing and open(click) a option such as collor range, or
content aware delete, then my photoshop just freezes, and crashes. compatibility
mode on windows doesn't work either. i tried the 32, and the 64 bit version of
photoshop, but they both freeze. on windows 7 it worked just fine.

about my PC:

4 GB ram

Intel Pentium 1.8 ghz.

can you help me?

Thanks

Most likely you need a new version of Photoshop for win 8.1. Visit the Adobe site to see if there is an update. The Windows Compatibility Center is HERE to look up your version. You need version 7 or higher for win 8. You should always use the 32 bit version of software.

Hi,

I would recommend you to check event viewer logs, look for event errors after Photoshop crashes.  Follow these steps to access Event Viewer.

  1. Go to the Start Screen.
  2. Type in Event Viewer.
  3. This will bring up the Event Viewer box. Click to open the Event Viewer.
  4. In the left pane, expand Windows Logs.
  5. Click on Application and System log.  Highlight the first event in the log and use your arrow keys to scroll down. Most of your event will be in formation. You may see Yellow Warnings or Red Errors. If you see a red error, you can double click on it to bring it up and copy the contents to a document.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

The faulting modue shows t ig4dev32.dll (the file that caused the error) is a file that is included in the Intel driver.

I would recommend you visit Intel website to check and download any available updates for your video card driver.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

You may also refer the Microsoft article on how to update the display driver manually.
