Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Y500: Power State Failures, Itunes error 310, wireless lan unstable.

Hey all.

Two months ago my Lenovo Y500 became plagued by a multitude of problems after updating to windows 8.1 to the point of breaking down.
According to my own "research" this was because 8.1 replaced a lot of drivers that should not have been replaced or tampered with and it put some hardware on a "power save" feature for no good reason whatsoever. (the power supply would put itself on a "power safe" feature for instance causing the whole computer to crash, kind off a daft thing to do).
The video card, the network card, the power supply, the usb's ports, all where causing BSOD's and in the end the SSD drive which apparently contained some important computer operation stuff locked itself down and froze over. And the laptop became a useless brick not receptacle to any kind of resets because hey, the 8.1 update made sure I could not restore to any OS state since before the 8.1 update.

So the factory send me a brand new spanking Lenovo Y500 with windows 8.1 installed on it (even though I'd rather have 8.0 on it since I still believe the update caused all the issues) and all was good, for a while...

Today I had my first BSOD Power State Failure again, and the wireless lan is behaving haphazardly at best.
Also I can't seem to connect to Itunes due to the 310 error no matter what troubleshooting or tampering I do.
I fear my Windows registry has become damaged or incomplete, but since I am not an expert on these things I come here.

In short the following:

-My Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG device is acting terrible, no matter to which wi-fi it connects it will disconnect at random moments, give me a bad signal strength, and so on. I installed the right drivers according to Lenovo's specs but it's not helping. On my Lenovo before the 8.1 update I never had any problems at any moment. Not a single driver or modem settings related or network card settings related thins has elevated these problemes. And I am really clueless at the moment as how to fix this.
-The BSOD, I am anxious that they will crop up more and more and break down another laptop, I want to fix all driver related issues and be sure its a-okay from here on out.
-Itunes 310 error, now this is just a bit annoying and I believe its registry related, but I really don't know how to fix it or locate the exact cause.
-My windows registry, how to locate problems, how to repair?

Help would be really welcome, as I am not keen on waiting untill these software related issues break down my laptop just after the warranty has run out :)

Uhm.. I am pretty sure I need to upload some logs, and .dmp's but I will wait a bit untill a "proffesional" asks for it :)

Okay. Sorry for the late reply.
I finnaly managed to turn my laptop on again.

Some days ago and just about an hour ago I got the notification that my Intel Storage Device (aka my hard drive) was switching off.
After several minutes of severe OS freezing operations resumed save for the fact that nothing relating to Windows could be accesed.
A power drive failure was quick to follow, which got stuck in an endless loop from trying to collect data for the .dmp (which would be stuck on 0% for about 15 minutes) after which my system would switch itself off and on again, going back to the power drive failure screen, going back to switching off, going back to the power drive failure screen, an endless loop.

And this is the second time this happens with Windows 8.1 on a new Lenovo Y500 model, the exact same issues.

Sadly no minidumps could be found of these events, but I have one other.

After leaving my system alone for a bit it turns on again.
Untill it suddenly decides that it's time for a blue screen of doom.

Hi,

Driver Power State Failure error is displayed in Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). This error is mostly displayed due to incompatible or inappropriate driver for any hardware device. Follow the steps from this article and check if it helps:

Hope this helps.

Now I get the
"RVC is already running"
message everytime I start the computer.
Which according to some sources is a sure sign of a Trojan, according to some others it's nothing...

Everything else seems to be working.

Edit: well no blue screens so far but the wifi connection is even more haphazzard then before, giving me limited connectivity every 10 minutes.
