Getting error code 8024000C when trying to install Windows Updates.

I checked for updates on my computer and found that I had 1 update available, but when I tried to installed it, I got a message saying Windows was currently trying to install other updates and to try again in a few minutes. I clicked "get info" and found a link that said "get help with error code 8024000C." I've looked aroundsupports sites for a while now, but I can't find anything specifically related to this error code. I found a site that says to delete something called "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE," but I'd like to see if there are more options before deleting something potentially important.

My mail and calendar apps aren't opening properly, and I want to see if it's related to the update I need to install.
