Windows Logon Interface Host (LogonUI.exe) crash on startup

Whenever i fresh boot my laptop, the Logon/Lock screen whill show momentarily then turns black (crash?). Nothing works, so i power cycle the laptop and i can logon fine. Ocassionally, when the laptop resumes from standby, this also happens. However, a reboot after a sucessful startup would just boot normally.

A quick check on the windows reliability history show this (similar, multiple entries):

Faulting application name: LogonUI.exe, version: 6.3.9600.16384, time stamp: 0x5215f6c5

From my understanding nvumdshimx.dll is NVDIA's D3D driver. I've tried reinstalling/uninstalling the NVIDIA drivers and rolling back to an earlier version, but the crashes still happen.

Resolved with a firmware (BIOS, VBIOS) rollback. Manufacturer provided firmware was faulty.
